Rooted in 1,000 Years of Moroccan Craft
Deep within the labyrinthine streets of Fez's ancient medina, a tradition older than most nations continues to thrive. Our artisans belong to families who have shaped clay, mixed glazes, and painted intricate motifs for over forty generations — an unbroken chain of mastery stretching back to the 10th century.
Every piece begins with natural local clay, hand-dug from the hills surrounding Fez and aged for weeks before it meets the potter's wheel. Our glazes are formulated from mineral pigments — cobalt for blues, antimony for yellows, copper for greens — ground by hand and applied with brushes made from donkey hair, just as they were centuries ago.
These techniques — passed from master to apprentice through patient years of practice — cannot be replicated by machines. The subtle irregularities in each brushstroke, the depth of hand-mixed color, the warmth of wood-fired kilns — these are the signatures of human hands and centuries of devotion to beauty.
